Peoria Presbyterian Preschool is a mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria whose purpose is to prepare our children for Kindergarten using developmentally appropriate learning activities to foster social/emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth incorporating Christian principles.
The school and church strive to provide a nurturing Christian environment designed to prepare children for Kindergarten through play-based learning that promotes social/emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth. Our curriculum is “Creative Curriculum” based, while following Arizona Early Childhood Standards.
I am a mother of two grown childeran and a wife to a long haul truck driver. I enjoy playing golf and watching baseball and football. I live in Glendale so I am always only 5 minutes away from the preschool.
I was educated at Ambassador College, in Pasadena, California. I have a ECE (Early Childhood Education) degree from Glendale Community College. I continue to attend classes regarding state regulations for your child's safety.
I have been an Early Childhood teacher for infants, toddlers, children ages 3-5 and after school programs for over 25 years. Most of my service has been in non-profit private preschools. Also I have been an educational consultant for over 13 years, presenting at various conferences for preschool staff.
Every year I look forward to the challenges and rewards of being a part of the social, physical, and congnitive growth of young children to help prepare them for their continued education.
Thank you for allowing me to teach your child.
Hi, my name is Sandra Erickson. I am a wife and a mother of three amazing girls. I was born and raised in California. My family and I just relocated to Arizona in 2013. We are really enjoying it here, especially the wonderful parks!I have been a teacher in early childhood eduation for over 18 years. I have worked with all ages from two through eleven years old. I really have no favorite age because each age has challenges and most definitely has rewards. I feel I grow every year with each class; sometimes it is professionally and sometimes personally. I know that this is what I was born to do. I am currently working toward my Child Development Associate credential. In my spare time (what's this?) I like to read (I usually fall asleep), tackle house projects, and spend quality fun time with my family.
I am very excited about getting to know your child and you too of course. I assure you that this will be a fun and positive experience not only for your child, but you as well.
Smiles, Sandra Erickson
